The Host preview

Awesome movie! Go see it now!!

The Host

The Host has been in theaters for a few days now, and is a must-see!. It is about Wanderer, an alien who has lived on many planets, who takes over the body of Melanie. Melanie is considered a host for this alien. Wanderer thinks she's in complete control of her new body, but she soon finds out that she is not alone. Melanie still lives in her mind and she often talks to Wanderer. Wanderer soon finds herself acting and thinking like Melanie. The Host is based on the book "The Host" written by Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight Saga. The Host is considered her first "adult-like book". If you want to read the book, I suggest you see the movie first, so that you get a better idea of what the characters look like, and where the story is going. Plus, since the book is always better than the movie, you won't be disappointed with the movie if you haven't read the book yet. I am currently reading the book, and so far, the movie was quite accurate  to the book. It is a great love and adventure story, good for all ages, but will appeal more to teenage girls. My dad looked like he was in pain the whole movie, so it's the kind of movie that you will have to drag your father, husband, or boyfriend too. I loved the movie, and hopefully you will too. So watch, enjoy, and be happy!

Rare TV Series Post: Supernatural

I got into Supernatural about a month ago and I just have to post about it. Supernatural has been going on for while, and the show is on its 8th season now, but it is still worth it to watch from the beginning. Supernatural is about two [very attractive] brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, who have been hunting the supernatural for years. They hunt vampires, demons, shape-shifters, werewolves, and basically anything supernatural. They travel around the country in a 1967 Chevy Impala following omens and odd news that may possibly related to the supernatural.  This show is very addictive, and seasons 1-7 are on Netflix right now. It is worth the time and effort, but if you have a life, you will lose it to this show. Prepare for long Supernatural marathons on Netflix, and having no friends for a while, unless you get your best-friend hooked on the show like I did. It will forever be your favorite show! Warning: Watching Supernatural will cause an intense love for Jensen Ackles(Dean) and Jared Padalecki(Sam).  You may even want to make a Pinterest board about them. P.S: Dean is on the left in the picture, and Sam is on the right. Watch, Enjoy, and love Supernatural!

The Life of Pi trailer

The Life of Pi trailer...great movie!

Life of Pi

The Life of Pi was recently released on DVD after being in theaters for quite a while. The Life of Pi is based on a book, and is one of the most praised movies of 2012, and 2013. It is about a young boy, a quite odd young boy named Piscine. Piscine lives with his mother, father, and brother. His family owns a zoo, so he has been around exotic animals for a while. He was constantly teased about his name, which is also the name of a french pool,  so he spend a whole day trying to get his fellow students to call him "Pi" not Piscine. In order to earn his new nickname, Piscine learns and writes hundreds of the numbers of Pi, π. Because of his extraordinary ability to remember the numbers of Pi, he earns his nickname. Pi's name is not the only odd thing about him. He practices multiple religions at a time, well at least he tries to. Pi is a very curious boy when it comes to the way people act, and why they act that way. One day, his family is forced to sell their zoo due to money shortages. They begin their trek to America on a Japanese ship with their animals. On the 1st night of their trip, there is a huge thunder storm, and the ship goes down. The rest of the movie is about Pi, fighting for survival all alone. The Life of Pi won four Oscars, and numerous other awards from awards shows that don't come on TV. The Life of Pi was praised for it's mind-blowing graphics, and great developing story line. I thought the graphics were amazing, but the story was quite sad to me, because I am an animal lover. It saddened me to see the animals on the ship suffer. If you did not see The Life of Pi in theaters, it is just as great at home, especially if you bought the DVD in Blu-Ray. It is a must-see for everyone. So watch, enjoy, and be happy!

The Lucky One trailer

It's a must-see movie!

The Lucky One - Girls' Weekend Movie #2

The second movie we watched at our Girls' Weekend  was The Lucky One (there seems to be a Nicholas Sparks theme). The Lucky One is about U.S Marine Logan Thibault, played by adorable Zac Efron, who finds a picture while in combat, that saves his life multiple times. He survives 3 tours in Iraq, and feels that he owes the girl in the picture thanks for being his lucky charm. He walks from Colorado to Hamden , Louisiana( though it's Hampton, NC in the book) to find the girl, after he finds out that the lighthouse the girl is standing in front of is in Hamden. He finally finds the girl, named Beth Green, who has a son, and a crazy ex-husband. The rest of the story is about Logan and Beth's developing love, Beth's creepy Ex, and Logan's trouble telling Beth about why he is really in Hamden. The Lucky One is the only Nicholas Sparks story that won't have you crying, which is good. It is a little too new to be on channels like ABC Family, but it is on HBO. You can also rent it at Red Box, like I did. It's one of my favorite movies, and it's a bonus that Zac Efron is in it! So Watch, Enjoy, and Be Happy

The Notebook trailer

The Notebook - Girls' Weekend movie #1

I just had a girls' weekend with my friend, my mom and my sister. We watched the Notebook first. The Notebook was first a book, and is the famous story of forbidden love, written by Nicholas Sparks. Noah falls in love with the rich girl, Allie. And of course, Allie's parents don't approve. They have to jump over many hurdles, but, like in all Nicholas Sparks movies, love prevails. The Notebook is an uplifting love story, that will make almost anyone cry, but a good-kind of crying. The Notebook is perfect for a Girls' weekend, or any weekend really. It is an older movie, so it comes on channels like ABC Family frequently. It's worth the watch. So Watch, Enjoy, and Be Happy!

Wreck -It Ralph preview

Must Watch!

Wreck-It Ralph

Wreck-It Ralph was one of the best animated movies of 2012. It is about the Ralph, the bad guy in the game Fix-It Felix,Jr. Ralph becomes tired of being considered the bad-guy, and getting no recognition at all, that he leaves his game to go to other games in search of a gold medal to prove that he is no longer the bad guy. He finds himself in games that are the equivalent of what we call Halo, and Mario Cart. Wreck-It Ralph is hilarious, adorable, and perfect for all ages. It is especially perfect for those who are kids at heart! You can buy Wreck-It Ralph, or rent it at Red Box. It's worth watching, even if you aren't into the animated movies lately. So Watch, Enjoy, and Be Happy!
Rate: 10 out of 10. (It's adorable)

Breaking Dawn Part II trailer

Trailer. DVD released on March 1st..get it now!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II

We just bought Breaking Dawn part II, and  it's a great movie. I'd already seen it in theaters but at home it was just as great. This is a continuation of Edward and Bella's great romance after they have a child and Bella is turned into a vampire(this all happened in the very end of Breaking Dawn part I, by the way). In Part II, the Volturi(the equivalent to kings in the vampire world) come to Forks,WA to destroy the Cullens since they think Edward and Bella's child is an Immortal Child, child vampires who left a huge scar on the vampire world. Breaking Dawn part II is, in my opinion, the best of the Twilight Saga movies. The books were all amazing, but the movies did not portray the romance as well as the books did, except for in Part II. This movie was a lot like the book, which I like. Plus, there is a twist. For those that haven't seen it yet, you will freak out at the twist, I promise you that. So if you haven't seen it, I'm sure it's at Red Box, but don't wait for it to go on Netflix... you will be waiting for a while. So watch, enjoy, and be happy!

Jack the Giant Slayer preview

Jack the Giant Slayer preview!

Jack the Giant Slayer

Jack the Giant Slayer was released on March 1, 2013. I saw it on March 2, 2013 and surprisingly there wasn't a long line. Usually that means that the movie did poorly on it's first day. I was talking to people and they said that the commercials made the movie look cliche, but the commercials portrayed this movie completely wrong. Jack the Giant Slayer is basically the original Jack and the Beanstalk story with a more modern and creative twist. The princess of the town finds herself in giant land after being dragged up by the beanstalk. Jack goes up the beanstalk to save this princess who he just met, but seems to be in love with. Jack the Giant Slayer is a great mix of love, action, and humor. It is one of the best movies I've seen. Of course, that may be because of the fact that adorable Nicholas Hoult plays Jack, but mostly that was just a bonus to the greatness of the movie. I would not see this movie in 3D though. It does not need the 3D to be great. You should go see Jack the Giant Slayer now, like right now. So watch, enjoy, and be happy!

Skyfall Preview

Skyfall

Skyfall is the latest James Bond movie featuring Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, and other phenomenal actors. Like all James Bond movies, there's never ending action, and many surprises. In Skyfall, after accidentally being shot by a fellow agent, James Bond is considered to be dead. He makes a shocking return, but he's off his A-game. With the help of adorable computer geek Q, Bond goes after an ex-agent who wants revenge. Skyfall is said to be the best Bond movie of them all, and I must admit that it was a pretty good movie. If you like action and Bond, James Bond then you should see Skyfall if you haven't yet. So Watch, Enjoy, and Be Happy!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower preview

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower, based off the book with the same title, was the most popular 'high school' movie of 2012. TPBW is about freshman Charlie, played by The Lightning Thief's Logan Lerman, who had experienced a lot of trauma in his life.It is assumed that he just recently got out of the hospital for a breakdown or a suicide attempt. This is his first year of college, and he goes in with no friends. He soon meets seniors Sam, played by Harry Potter's Emma Watson, and Patrick, played by Ezra Miller. Quirky Sam and Patrick become his first friends and introduce him to many other people that are just as weird as them.  TPBW is basically the coming of age story of a messed up 15 year old. This is my new favorite dramatic movie, and it does have sad parts. If you cry easily, be prepared with tissues. If you haven't seen TPBW you can get it at Red Box now. So Watch, Enjoy, and be happy!

How to Have an Anti-Valentines Day Movie Party

Don't have anyone to share Valentine's Day with? No Problem! Grab a few friends and have an Anti V-Day movie party. It's quite easy really, but since I'm a girl, I don't know how to throw an Anti V-Day party for guys. For guys, the parties are probably similar but with more Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2. To throw a girly Anti V-Day party you need three essential things: Snacks, Blankets, and Movies that have nothing to do with love. For the snacks portion, cookie dough, ice cream, frosting, and Doritos work great. Everyone will need at least 2 blankets, or you can even make a fort and move the TV inside of the fort. Some great movies are The Orphan, any Saw movie. Basically any horror movie or movie with a lot of break-ups will do. Even the movie Valentines Day is great, if you feel in the lovey-dovey mood for some reason. To really go all out, don't wear any red or pink since those colors have to do with love. It's easy to have an Anti V-Day party, and it's worth it too! So watch, enjoy, and be anti-lovey!
Hotel Transylvania Preview

Hotel Transylvania

I just rented Hotel Transylvania on Friday and it was adorable. It is about a vampire dad,Dracula, who builds a hotel for monsters to keep his vampire daughter, Mavis, safe and away from humans because he thinks they are evil . (It's kind of a backwards movie, since usually it's humans who want to stay away from monsters.) Then one day a human shows up at the hotel, and of course, Mavis likes the human. It is a great movie, but a lot of people didn't see it because it looked childish. There are many funny parts, and even some sexual innuendos that kids wouldn't understand. The movie features the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, David Spade, Molly Shannon, Steve Buscemi, Fran Drescher, and CeeLo Green. If you haven't seen Hotel Transylvania then rent it! Even if you don't have a younger sibling or kids it's a great movie. So Watch, Enjoy, and Be Happy.

John Carter Preview

It is a crappy preview, but I had to put it on here.

John Carter

John Carter was a great sci-fi movie. It was released in 2012, and didn't do well in theaters. But that's not because the movie sucked, it's because the commercials sucked. I remember seeing the commercials and saying every time that I would never see that horrible movie. Well, I was wrong. I rented the movie and loved it. It features the adorable Taylor Kitsch, who was also in X-Men Origins. It is about a guy who is  transported to Mars, on accident, and finds himself in the middle of a war. Oh and what good would a sci-fi movie be without the Damsel in Distress? If you like sci-fi movies, you would probably like John Carter. If you still haven't seen it, go rent it from Red Box. So Watch, enjoy and be happy!

The Hobbit preview

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

The Hobbit is a movie based off a book. It is the 4th "Lord Of The Rings" type movie released, but it is based before the time of the Lord of The Rings movies. The Hobbit features Bilbo Baggins, Frodo's uncle. If you haven't seen the Lord Of The Rings movies, then you won't understand any of this. Bilbo is sent off with a group of dwarves to help gain back the dwarves' homeland. Bilbo was chosen by Gandalf, because of his bravery during times when no one else is brave. The Hobbit  movie was split into 3 parts, and only the first part was released in 2012. The 2nd part will be released around November of this year,2013.  If you want to go see The Hobbit, but you have not seen the other 3 Lord of The Rings movies, you will be confused. So have a Lord Of The Rings marathon before you go see The Hobbit. Warning: all the Lord Of The Rings movies are 3 hours long, so prepare for a long movie day. The Hobbit is also a long movie, so make sure not to drink too many liquids and go to the bathroom at least twice before the movie starts because it is not the type of movie that you can just leave and come back and it will make sense. You have to watch the whole movie and pay attention to every little detail. It sounds like a chore, but it's not. The Hobbit is a great movie, trust me, I'm a nerd. So watch, enjoy, and be happy!

The Amazing Spider Man preview

The Amazing Spider Man

I spent a nerd day and watched some movies that I love. I watched the Amazing Spider Man. It is about Peter Parker, who gets bit by a genetically altered mechanical spider, that was part of an experiment that his dad created. Since his dad died, the experiment, that involved cross-species regeneration,  was really at a dead end, until Peter gave his dad'd old coworker a new Decay-Rate Algorithm. Peter unknowingly created a monster. The Amazing Spider Man features Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. It is a great movie, but I like the other Spider Man movies better, even though I think Andrew Garfield is a better Spider Man than Tobey Maguire, mostly because Andrew is buffer and less whiney. I just like the plot lines in the older Spider Man movies better. If you haven't seen The Amazing Spider Man, you're missing out. Just rent it from Red Box, and watch, enjoy and be happy!

Red Dawn preview

Red Dawn(2012)

I just saw Red Dawn at the Renton,WA $3.50 theater. Basically, it is about a group of Spokane,WA teenagers who begin to start a rebellion after the North Koreans invade their town. It is a remake of the original Red Dawn that was released in 1984. I loved the movie, even though most people didn't. I probably loved it so much because it had Josh Hutcherson in it. Honestly, Josh Hutcherson could make a 3 hour movie about him opening cans of tuna and I would give it a 5 star rating. I don't even like tuna. Yet, there was one thing I didn't like about the movie...it was the people sitting behind us. These people literally waited until the movie started to open their bags of chips and start munching, really loudly. Plus, their child would obnoxiously state the obvious throughout the ENTIRE movie. It was painful, actually. Overall, the movie was great but the theater experience was bad. Hey, at least I only paid $3.50 to get in! If you saw the 1st movie as a teenager, you might not like the new one. But if you are a teen now and you see the new Red Dawn now, you probably will enjoy it. So watch, enjoy, and be happy!

Preview for Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies

Feeling some heartache? The usual thing to do is to get some ice cream and watch a gory movie, like a zombie movie. Zombie movies, featuring humans being eaten, are a good reminder that your heart isn't being ripped out like in the movie, though it may feel that way. Zombie movies are all gore and no love, right? WRONG! We were all wrong about zombie movies and what makes them great. Warm Bodies was released today, and I just came back from seeing it. Warm Bodies is basically about a guy who falls in love, and finds himself turning human. It is an amazing movie, but not for the person who is really into typical zombie movies. These zombies move fast, and some even slightly talk. It's not very gory either, which is good for those who are gore-phobic. It's quite a romantic and sweet movie, I found myself "aww"ing a lot. So if you are feeling some heartache, don't see Warm Bodies. Wait until you are in a romance and comedy kind of mood to see it. Overall, it is an amazing movie! Go see it! Watch, enjoy and be happy!

Tangled- The Snuggly Duckling

Tangled- Snuggly Duckling Pub scene...it's hilarious!

Tangled- Disney's best!

Tangled is my favorite new Disney movie. It is about Rapunzel, who, with the help of a thief she just met, goes out into the world for the first time in search of the "floating lights" that she sees every year on her birthday. One cool thing about Rapunzel, is she has magical hair, that renews youth, and heals. Tangled features the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. Plus, there is an adorable and silly horse! It is the perfect mix of Disney humor and music. Warning: if you are sensitive to Disney romance, you WILL cry. Overall, it's an amazing movie. If you have seen it, you agree with me. If you haven't seen it, you have to watch it. So watch, enjoy and be happy!

How to Really Enjoy a Movie Day

Movie days are a lot of commitment. A movie day is not just watching one movie then switching to today. You have to commit to it. Don't try to orchestrate a movie day on a weekday, weekends are the best. First, spend a day cleaning the house, so you don't have to stress about the mess around you, or even just clean the family/movie room.Next, chose the movies. Pick a movie series to get into!Or, if you want to watch a scary movie, it's best to chose a romantic comedy to watch afterwards, especially if you get spooked easily. Everybody loves a rom-com anyways, right? After you chose your movies, buy some snacks. Popcorn, chips, and candy are perfect snacks for a movie day. Sandwiches are great if you want to eat an actual meal. Lastly, round up the snacks, the family, and the remotes. Put on the movies then watch, enjoy, and be happy!
P.S: Movie days are even fun by yourself, just buy less snacks, so you don't have the temptation to eat a family-size bag of doritos and a package of oreos.

MP& The Holy Grail, French taunting-Hilarious

My favorite part of Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

Monty Python and The Holy Grail

I've watched this movie so much that a witch came and turned me into a newt...well, I got better! If you haven't seen this movie yet, I will warn you that it is not for the serious people, or the literal people. You have to be open for anything, especially stupidity. You may not like it at first, but if you still don't like it after 30 minutes, I suggest you just turn off your TV and walk away. At least give it a chance, and hopefully you won't regret watching it. So watch, enjoy, and be happy. Try not to lose to many brain cells, cinigits!

Warm Bodies Preview

EXCITED??? SO AM IIIIII!
Les Miserables preview, as promised

Les Miserables

I saw Les Miserables in the theater a week after it came out. I was actually surprised at how entertaining it was. All of the actors sang pretty well, but honestly....Russell Crowe should stick to acting. If you haven't seen Les Miserables yet, it's a movie perfect for theaters, except for one flaw: you can't pause the movie when you have to use the bathroom. So I will warn you, go to the bathroom AT LEAST twice before the movie starts, since it's about 3 hours long, or you will regret it. Les Miserables is a movie for Kids over 13, because it does have one slight sex scene, and the concepts dealt with would not compute in the mind of a child any younger than 13. So watch, enjoy, and be happy. ..Maybe not happy, but be prepared to cry!
P.S: there are so many story lines in the movie, so I can't really explain the plot without rambling on forever. Hopefully the trailer will help.

A Little About Me

My name is Kayleen, and I'm obsessed with movies. Most girls my age are crazy about One Direction and 16 and Pregnant. I'm the odd one out. My obsessions are movies, dogs, Josh Hutcherson, and Call of Duty.
My goal is to see a new movie every weekend and write about it on here! I want them to mostly be new movies in theaters or recently released to DVD, but I will still write about movies after I watch them for the first time. I like any movies, of any genre.

Some random facts about me:
-The only celebs I want to meet are Ellen DeGeneres, Josh Hutcherson, and Jackie Chan.
- I'm pretty good at school
- New Orleans is my favorite city
- I watch 3 Tv Channels: ABC Family, Nat Geo Wild, and Animal Planet

That's basically all about me, I'm a simple person, really.
P.S- If you want to recommend a good movie, I will watch it and post about it!
Pitch Perfect preview for those who haven't seen it yet!

Pitch Perfect

I recently saw Pitch Perfect on DVD. I thought it would be somewhat of a spoof of Glee, but I was wrong (that tends to happen). Pitch Perfect was a hilarious, musical type movie, without all of the cheesy lines that make up a musical. Pitch Perfect is basically about a talented girl who, in order to get her dad off her back, attempts to make some friends by joining an a Capella group. She realizes that these girls are her only girl-friends, and makes bonds that will never be broken. If you haven't seen Pitch Perfect yet, you must. I would recommend kids over 13 watch it, purely because anyone younger wouldn't understand it. So watch, enjoy, and be happy. Be ready for the songs to be stuck in your head!
